JULY 1 2020

As part of the Victoria On Stage (VOS) Musical Theatre Society’s development of our COVID-19 Safety Plan we have taken the time to identify protocols that everyone that is employed, volunteers, rents space or attends a society sponsored activity, or event at our Fairview location must follow in order to keep everyone safe.

The recommendations and orders from the BC Provincial Health Officer are continuously changing as the COVID-19 situation is dynamic. We as a society recognize our obligation to stay up to date on the requirements set out by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), BC’s Provincial Health Officer (PHO), and make changes as necessary in order to ensure alignment to the direction provided.

JUNE 1 2020

As activities requiring large gatherings are not possible for the foreseeable future, we have made the decision to cancel all musical theatre productions that would have been performed at the McPherson Playhouse, our home for many decades, during our 2020-21 season. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our audiences, performers, crew and volunteers. It is a heartbreaking decision for us to make, but a necessary one. It’s made especially painful as VOS celebrates 75 years of Musical Theatre production in Victoria and we all looked forward to celebrating this season with you.

Additionally we will be postponing our 75th Anniversay celebration until 2021. If you have already purchased tickets, we will be in touch soon.

However, though we cannot all be together in person VOS will be embracing the digital technology available to us to bring VOS to you. VOS is excited to Pivot and Play with you through some exciting new digital programming in the coming months.

Our building and administrative offices will remain closed to the public until further notice.

We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and support of our sponsors, volunteers and members, and can’t wait to be together in person again. Until that time, please keep in touch via our newsletter and social media, and stay tuned as we navigate through.

Thank you and stay safe.

APRIL 24 2020

Due to the restrictions on gatherings over 50 people, we wil be postponing our 75th Anniversary party to Saturday September 26 2020. If you have already purchased a ticket, it will automatically be honored at the new date. More information about the event will be available soon. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they’re available.

Our building and administrative offices remain closed to the public until further notice.

MARCH 17 2020

The health and well being of our VOS family of volunteers, onstage and off, students, staff and audiences is our top priority. We have been following the COVID-19 outbreak in British Columbia, and closely following the recommendations from the Province, and the Public Health Agency of Canada. We will continue to take our lead from them, and provide updates as things progress.

With this is mind and after much discussion, VOS will be postponing our Spring production of Catch Me If You Can. We are working towards bringing Catch Me If You Can to Victoria audiences in the future. If you have purchased tickets directly through the McPherson Box Office using a credit card, you will automatically be refunded. If you purchased through the McPherson Box Office using cash, cheque or debit, please call or email the McPherson box office directly. If you wish to donate your refunded ticket to support VOS, please click here.

If you purchased vouchers through a Catch Me cast or crew member or through the office, please contact the office by email at gm@victoriaonstage.ca to make arrangements.

The VOS office and hall will be closed to the public until March 31 2020.
