Tara Britt

Originally from Victoria, BC, Tara graduated from the Musical Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College. She has worked all over the world for various cruise lines as well as several regional companies

For the past 10 years Tara has worked in Victoria as a director, choreographer, and performer. Past directorial and choreography credits include Gypsy, Brigadoon, Annie, A Christmas Story (Choreographer only), and Anne of Green Gables for VOS; Annie for Blackbox Productions; Title of Show for Urban Arts 2011 and 2016; Addams Family and Little Shop of Horrors (Choreographer only) for Kaleidoscope Theatre; Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables School Edition, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Jungle Book, Annie Jr., Fame, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin Jr., West Side Story, Legally Blond, and Godspell for VYMTC. Selected performing credits include Evita (Eva Peron), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), and 9 To 5 (Judy) with VOS; Nevermore (Elmira), Into The Woods (Bakers Wife), Title of Show (Heidi) with Urban Arts; You Can’t Take It With You (Alice) with Langham Court Theatre; Singing In The Rain (Kathy) with Kaleidoscope Theatre; My Fair Lady (Mrs. Hopkins/Lady Boxington), and Christmas at the Roxy radio plays 2016 & 2017 with Blue Bridge Theatre.


Yanik Giroux
Music Director

Yanik is a graduate from the University of Montreal, the Canadian College of Performing Arts and the Chemainus Theatre Acting Internship Program.

Vocal coach, music director and accompanist, he previously taught musical theatre at Boston Dance Collective, Canadian College of Performing Arts, Dansko Studios and Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Studio to name a few.

Performing and directing credits include performances with VOS Musical Theatre (A Chorus Line), Four Seasons Musical Theatre (The Little Mermaid), Theatre North West (Dancock’s Dance, Portia White, All Shook Up), Chemainus Theatre (Hello, Dolly!, Sherlock Holmes, Little House On The Prairie), Ballet Victoria (Ballet Off Broadway), Langham Court Theatre (Jacques Brel, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Belfry Theatre (Urinetown), Pacific Opera Victoria (La Traviata), and Kaleidoscope Theatre (Little Shop Of Horrors, Hair, Singin’ In The Rain, Rocky Horror Show, Aladdin, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe).

He also directed in Montreal (Broadway II) and Toronto (Bye Bye Birdie, Seussical), and has been artistic director for Pacifique en Chanson in Vancouver for the past ten years.

He is Governor for the Northwestern region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Associate of Trinity College London-UK and holds certification in Somatic Voicework™-The LoVetri Method from the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University, Virginia.

Mariah McDonald
Music Director/Assistant Instructor

Teen Summer Camps

Graduating with a degree in music from Canadian Mennonite University in 2024, Mariah has training and experience in singing, teaching, accompanying, conducting, and composing. Mariah teaches voice and piano lessons, and loves to encourage her students to explore their passions, while developing well rounded musicianship skills and a love of music that will last them a lifetime.

Alongside her passion for music, Mariah also loves dance, acting and theatre. She started performing in musical theatre productions in 2010, as a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz, and fell in love with the stage. Performance credits include Nunsense (Sister Mary Leo), Shrek The Musical (ensemble), Anne of Green Gables (Josie Pye), Meet Me in St. Louis (Agnes Smith), A Christmas Story (ensemble), Annie (Annie), The Sound of Music (Brigitta), Brigadoon (ensemble), and Broadway: Decades in Review (ensemble) with VOS Musical Theatre, and Oliver! (Artful Dodger), and Narnia (ensemble) with Four Seasons Musical Theatre.

Mariah has channeled her love for performance into teaching at VOS Teen Summer Camps over the past three years, where she delights in helping students build confidence and discover their unique voices.
