What Do We Do?
so much more than just singing and dancing…
Victoria On Stage Musical Theatre Society (VOS) is a non-profit organization, established in 1945, dedicated to bringing the thrill and beauty of live musical theatre to the residents of Greater Victoria. For over eight decades, VOS has successfully presented high-quality Broadway musicals, and in its early years, Light Operas and Gilbert & Sullivan, providing a platform for local talent to shine.
As part of our mission, VOS is committed to nurturing emerging talent in all areas of musical theatre, both on stage and behind the scenes. We provide opportunities for performers, stage managers, designers, technicians, and other theatre volunteers to learn and gain experience through workshops, annual productions, and special events. Our Education & Training program offers youth summer camps and after-school classes, designed to foster a love and appreciation for musical theatre among younger generations.
The vision, core values, and objectives of VOS guide all our policies and decisions. Shaped by input from our Board of Directors, partnering arts organizations, and consultations with audience and society members, our goal is to deliver engaging, high-quality productions while keeping performances accessible and reasonably priced.
Victoria On Stage Musical Theatre Society is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization that provides programs for public benefit. As a registered charity (#119285039RR0001), we are authorized to issue tax receipts for donations, making it easy for supporters to contribute to our future and sustainability.
