8 to13 years-old:
Due to the limited availability of audition slots, we ask that all children 8 to 13 years-old submit a video audition prior to in-person auditions. Children selected for an in-person audition will be notified by Monday, October 5.

- One (1) verse and chorus, 32 bars, or a maximum of one (1) minute of a song from standard musical theatre repertoire or a Disney show (Broadway show or film). We’d love to see some variety, so please do not sing a song from Frozen.
- Children selected for an in-person audition will be notified by October 5 (selected songs from Frozen will be sent prior to the in-person audition)
- NOTE: Young Elsa & Young Anna will be double cast
ADULTS – What to Expect on Audition Day:
Auditions will be a mix of singing and choreography.
- Auditions will take place within a 1 hour time slot and include:
- Individual Singing
- Choreography will be taught in a class like style. You will not be required to perform the choreography (no choreo video).
- All auditionees are required for the full hour
- Singing will be performed individually, while the choreography will be taught in a group setting.
- Performers will be asked to prepare the following:
- One (1) verse and chorus, 32 bars, or a maximum of one (1) minute of a song from standard musical theatre repertoire or a Disney show (Broadway or film). We’d love to see some variety, so please do not sing a song from Frozen.
- Please wear something you can move in.
- Performers are encouraged to have fun, make strong character choices. We can’t wait to see what you do!
ADULTS – Video Auditions
Not available for auditions but still want to submit? VOS provides any performer the opportunity to submit a video audition. Please click Video Audition (Adult) below. Deadline for Adult Video auditions is October 9 at 12:00 noon.
Video auditions should include:
- A quick introduction (Name, roles interested, and what you will be singing)
- One (1) verse and chorus, 32 bars, or a maximum of one (1) minute of a song from standard musical theatre repertoire or a Disney show (Broadway show or film). We’d love to see some variety, so please do not sing a song from Frozen.
DATES TO NOTE:
- Saturday, October 24: Callbacks | 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM | VOS Hall
- Rehearsals will begin with a sing/read-through on Sunday, January 10, 2027.
- Rehearsals are held Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Not all cast members will be required at every rehearsal, but everyone should plan to be available. Rehearsal schedules will be provided in advance; however, they may be adjusted at the director’s discretion.
- Performance Dates: April 30 – May 9, 2027
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- All cast members must hold a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (also known as a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector – PIC-VS), which includes an RCMP criminal record and vulnerable sector check. If you do not have a current one, VOS will assist you in obtaining it.
- All members of Actors Equity who plan to audition for this production must receive a permission to work without reference to an Equity contract prior to auditions.
- All cast are non-paid volunteer positions.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
ELSA
Age Range: 20-35
The majestic, reserved future Queen of Arendelle born with dangerous ice powers. She isolates herself out of fear before learning to control her gift.
Mezzo-Soprano | Belt, E3 to Eb5
ANNA
Age Range: 20-35
Elsa’s fiercely loyal, quirky, and eternally optimistic younger sister, driven by a deep desire for connection. Anna is a warm and determined princess and requires a strong singer with great comic timing.

KRISTOFF
Age Range: 20-35
A sharp, hardworking, and rugged ice harvester with a surprisingly big heart. He acts as Anna’s grounded guide through the mountains.
Baritone / Tenor | A2 to Bb4
HANS
Age Range: 20-35
The ambitious Prince of the Southern Isles and youngest of 13 brothers. He hides a manipulative, selfish nature behind an exceptionally charming veneer.
Baritone / Tenor | A2 to A4
OLAF
Age Range: 18+
A magical, goofy snowman brought to life. He has total childlike innocence, wide-eyed wonder, and great comic timing.
NOTE: The actor playing Olaf will be manipulating an Olaf puppet, similar to the original Broadway production. This actor will need to have strong vocal characterization, as well as the ability to bring a puppet to life!

OAKEN
Age Range: 30+
A relentlessly cheerful and cozy trading post owner. Requires big comic energy and broad physical performance style

WESELTON

A pompous, insecure duke from a neighboring kingdom. Overbearing, jittery, and easily frightened.

Elder princess of Arendelle with magical powers; obedient daughter; protective sister.
