Audition Day Expectations
Here’s What To Expect On Your Audition Day:
- Auditions will be a mix of singing, acting and reviewing/performing choreography.
- Auditions will take place within a 1 hour time slot and include:
- Choreography review/walk-through
- Individual Singing
- Choreography Performance
- All auditionees are required for the full hour
- Singing will be performed individually, while the choreography will be reviewed/performed in a group setting.
- Performers are encouraged to learn the choreography as best as they can in advance of the audition using the tutorial provided.
- Performers will be asked to prepare the following:
- Two of the audition cuts/songs provided in the “Audition Materials” tab that you feel best represent you.
- Learn and prepare the choreography provided in the “Audition Materials tab”. If you have any questions, there will be an opportunity to ask them during the choreography walk-through.
- Please wear something you can move in.
- Performers are encouraged to have fun, make strong character choices. We can’t wait to see what you do!
Video Auditions
Not available for auditions but still want to submit? VOS provides any performer the opportunity to submit a video audition.
- Performers will be asked to prepare and record the following:
- A quick introduction (Name, roles interested, and what you will be singing)
- Two of the audition cuts/songs provided in the “Audition Materials” tab that you feel best represent you.
- The choreography provided in the “Audition Materials” tab.
- Performers are encouraged to have fun, make strong character choices. We can’t wait to see what you do!
Dates To Note
- Sunday, June 7: Callbacks | 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm | VOS Hall
- Rehearsals are held Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Not all cast members will be required at every rehearsal, but everyone should plan to be available. Rehearsal schedules will be provided in advance; however, they may be adjusted at the director’s discretion.
- Performance Dates: November 27 – December December 6, 2026
Important Information
- All cast members must hold a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (also known as a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector – PIC-VS), which includes an RCMP criminal record and vulnerable sector check. If you do not have a current one, VOS will assist you in obtaining it.
- All members of Actors Equity who plan to audition for this production must receive a permission to work without reference to an Equity contract prior to auditions.
- All cast are non-paid volunteer positions.
